Session one: Nov 19, 12:15-12:45

From Knowledge to Action: Five tips for moving forward on reconciliation

You may have done some learning on colonization and it’s impacts on Indigenous people, and that’s a great start. But what do you do with this new learning? How do you act and engage in Indigenous spaces? For people who are interested in supporting reconciliation, but aren’t sure what to do, feel hesitant, stuck, or scared – this workshop provides five simple yet powerful tips to get started.

Session two: Nov 26, 12:15-12:45

Truth before Reconciliation: A Guided Journey to a Lived Indigenous Experience

Colonization has confused and negatively impacted relationships between Indigenous and non-Indigenous Canadians. Reconciling involves releasing limiting beliefs, refraining from incorrect assumptions, and changing behavioral patterns for creating space to adopt new ones. This visualization serves to acknowledge those impacts and begin the journey toward trusting relationships from a place of truth. Plan time afterwards to connect to nature and spirit, debrief with a friend, or journal your experiences and feelings.

Session three: Dec 3, 12:15-12:45

Packing for the Journey: Personal Preparation on the Path of Reconciliation

Doing the healing work required of reconciliation can be both exhilarating and exhausting and is easier done from a rooted place of self-awareness and sustainability. Weaving personal wellness practices into your journey will help you stay regulated, resourced, and replenished along your path.

Session four: Dec 10: 12:15-12:45

Ethical Space: Weaving Indigenous and Settler Knowledge Systems

Ethical Space is about creating the opportunity to bring together Indigenous and settler knowledge systems – rather than trying to “Indigenize” existing mainstream organizations.  This is a powerful shift in how we think about reconciliation and decolonization.  This workshop provides an introduction to the theory behind Ethical Space and explores next steps to deepen your learning journey.
